St Albans School will be hosting Forum on Education, a teacher-organised, one-day conference, on 28th May. Entitled ‘Assessment and Feedback in Secondary Education,’ the conference is aimed at both state and independent sector teaching staff, to support and give greater ownership of their Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
St Albans School’s Forum on Education (SASFE), the first to be organised by the school, is comprised of keynote addresses by three respected educationalists and a series of seminar-style workshops with a choice of different themes.
The keynote speakers include: Jill Berry, a former headteacher and now an educational consultant, discussing the use of feedback in leadership and Ian Yorston, Director of Digital Strategy at Radley College examining the impact of technology on assessment. They are joined by Martin Robinson, an educationalist and author, who will introduce SASFE and open the discussion for the day.
The seminar-style workshops will cover a diverse range of subjects and concepts that are representative of the debates and discussions currently occurring in education and include how best to assess student progress in lessons, whole school assessments and using assessment and feedback in middle management.
Michael Smyth, Assistant Head – Teaching and Learning, at St Albans School commented: “We are delighted to host Forum on Education, our first education conference. As teachers continue to address how to offer the best in teaching and learning, we hope that the day will provide valuable insight and expertise from some of the teaching sector’s most respected leaders. The day’s structure will feature smaller seminars and sessions, to ensure that attendees will leave with valuable tools and a greater understanding as to how they can embrace the latest techniques.”
Forum on Education will take place on Saturday 28th May. Cost to attend is £30 per delegate with lunch and refreshments included. Go to http://www.st-albans.herts.sch.uk/St-Albans-School-Forum-on-Education for more information and https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/240673 to book tickets.
