Mother nature has always needed help when it comes to cleaning up. One fur mom took it upon herself to include her dog in the mission. Katie went to three shelters to look for a dog, and among all the dogs that she has met, she fell in love with Chipper.

When Katie met him, she fell in love with how engaging and how energetic he was. Katie knew that she wants to bring him home and make him her fur-son. Chipper quickly settled in when he arrived at his new home.

After a while, Katie wanted to spend more time outdoors with Chipper so they moved to Arizona so they get to explore more places. Whenever they go hiking, Chipper would pick up water bottles and bring it over to Katie. Chipper does this in all of their hikes and it not only impressed his mom but other people too.

He also does then when they go paddleboarding and just hiking. He would swim over to the bottle so he can give it to his mom. Chipper has done a lot when it comes to cleaning up trails, lakes, and beaches. Now, he has another mission, which is to help his new brother Quinci become more confident.

Quinci came from a hoarding situation and is frightened of everything. Even the sound of a leaf will cause him to hide in a corner, but with Chipper’s help, Quinci’s confidence is slowly rising and he even helps out in the cleanup.

The whole family enjoys hiking while picking up trash along the way. What Katie, Chipper, and Quinci do has inspired more people to help out and clean the environment. As for these two dogs, they have found the perfect mom and family while fulfilling their new purpose in life.

As a little girl living in the country side without many neighbors, my dog Sostee became my best friend. We shared an immense bond and I fell in love with these loving, beautiful and wonderful creatures. I knew from a tender age that I wanted to work with animals. I worked at the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana for a few years, and have experience with a variety of dogs and cats. When I’m not working as semi-retired Assistant Administrator in a Home Health Care Agency in Merrillville Indiana, I am a grandma frolicking with my active grandchildren and my sweet dog, Kresi.
