While a park is often thought of as a playground for dogs, it is everything for this pup.

This dog lived on scraps from people who visit the park. He would wait for some leftovers to feed his growling tummy. Thankfully, someone took the initiative and called Hope for Paws to rescue this poor boy.

Loreta and Eldad drove to central California to save the dog. When they arrived, they immediately spotted this pup under a picnic table where people ate. He looked for scraps under, and that’s when Loreta tried to catch the boy.

Loreta triumphantly captured the pup, and they named him “Happy” because even when his living condition was harsh, it did not stop him from being cheerful. He beamed with spirit!

They looked for a microchip then, but after not finding one, Loreta and Eldad set up for their trip back to Los Angeles.

When they arrived, they bathe Happy, and he felt refreshed. There were herds of fleas in his hair before. They gave him a haircut, and now he’s the complete opposite of what he used to look, hygienic.

Happy is believed to be only two years old, a Poodle or Shih Tzu Mix. Right now he is under the care of Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue. They treated him, and they never stop reaching out to any interested party who could give this young boy a forever home.

He did not only get treatment, but Happy gained a friend too in Maize, also an adoptable pup. They play all day like siblings, and we hope they find the best owners in the world!

If you are looking to help these two adorable dogs, then don’t hesitate and give Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue a call. You just might find your sweetest partner in them!

As a little girl living in the country side without many neighbors, my dog Sostee became my best friend. We shared an immense bond and I fell in love with these loving, beautiful and wonderful creatures. I knew from a tender age that I wanted to work with animals. I worked at the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana for a few years, and have experience with a variety of dogs and cats. When I’m not working as semi-retired Assistant Administrator in a Home Health Care Agency in Merrillville Indiana, I am a grandma frolicking with my active grandchildren and my sweet dog, Kresi.
